I didn’t start in a salon—I started in corporate America, navigating power structures at places like Google and Netflix. But a solo trip to Atlanta changed everything. I booked a silk press. What should’ve been a moment of self-care became emotionally painful—flooded with shame, self-doubt, and the weight of being too much and not enough at the same time.

Still, that moment cracked something open. I saw myself—truly—for the first time. And I realized: I didn’t need to shrink. I needed a space where I could expand.

So I built one.

Our S.P.A.C.E. Studios was born out of the act of transmuting pain into joy, but it also stands on the shoulders of the Black and Brown queer folx who’ve carved out space for us since the beginning of time. 

This isn’t just a salon—it’s a continuation of legacy. A rebellion. A home.
